| Grows in a wide range of well-drained soils. Thrives in cool summer areas. Water deeply, regularly during first few growing seasons to establish an extensive root system. Once established, adapts to less frequent water, but prefers consistent moisture. Apply a general-purpose fertilizer in early spring. May be trained to enhance form. |
